Haryana Chief Minister Introduce General Public Pass System for City Bus Service

Chandigarh 24th July:- Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced to introduce general public pass system for city bus service in Faridabad, Gurgaon and Panchkula so as to enable people to travel at concessional fare in these towns.

While stating this here today, Transport Minister Aftab Ahmed said that the passes would be issued to travel within municipal limits for non-AC and AC buses on monthly, quarterly, half yearly and yearly basis. The rates for monthly bus pass would be Rs.450 and Rs.700 for ordinary buses and AC buses respectively. He said that quarterly bus passes would be issued at the rate of Rs. 1300 and Rs.2000 for ordinary buses and AC buses respectively. Rates for half yearly bus pass would be Rs.2500 for ordinary buses and Rs.3900 for AC buses. Similarly, Rs. 4800 would be charged for yearly bus pass of ordinary buses and Rs.7400 for AC buses. The Minister said that the facility would prove beneficial for general public in a big way. He said that passes would be valid only in the municipal limits of the concerned city and for travel in any city bus of the respective category. There would be no limitation of number of trips. AC pass holders can travel in ordinary city buses but ordinary bus pass holder would not be entitled to travel in AC buses. The passenger would have to carry bus pass in original and produced on demand by the staff, he added. He said that general public bus passes would be issued at each depot headquarter on all working days. The person willing to get general bus pass has to fill up a prescribed form along with a photograph and deposit the same in the depot concerned alongwith requisite fee. The computerized bus pass would be issued the same day. He said that photograph is not required on renewal of such passes.
